I've been living in Germany for 5 years as a chronic A1 until the second half of 2024 when I shifted my mindset from "I should" to "I will" learn this language. Due to quasi-immersion, I have high-ish (for A2/B1.1) but many times selective passive understanding, with severely unpolished active skills and many gaps in vocabulary and grammar. The plan is to work on Begegnungen A2 and B1, DaF Kompakt A2 and B1, maybe also Themen Aktuell 2 and B-Grammatik. I will create and work with an Anki deck of the 500 most frequent verbs in German (minus the ones I already know) because I think it's the one word class that will give me the more bang (understanding) for my money (time efficiency). I'll watch Youtube videos and maybe also series, listen to Easy German podcasts when commuting and go to Sprachcafes for speaking (I have the huge benefit of living in a city where there are 3 or more Sprachcafes every single day, I have a lot of opportunities to practice). I have a lot of time in my hands and I'm making Deutsch lernen my number 1 priority for the next 2 months or so because of life goals.
